What the heck…
I can’t exactly divorce myself from my day job, even when there isn’t one. Up until recently, I’ve relied on the steady income coming in from a 9-5 to keep plugging away at my craft (in this case, writing). However, presently I do not have a day job. At least for the summer I don’t. I am truly freelancing, and that’s kind of cool. I’ve got several projects I’m working on, some paying, some not.
I realize that if I’m going to continue to write, I must find suitable day work to support my passion… and my family. I guess the whole idea of an ‘asylum’ for writers couldn’t be more appropriate, personally as well as professionally, for me, at least.
…Then again, this can support everything in the long run, right?
Stay tuned for additional rants in this department…

Write whenever and wherever you can–on the bus, the john, just get words on paper and flex those imaginative muscles. Marshall McCluhan used to write on a pingpong table in his basement and Kerouac on top of a firetower in the Pacific northwest. Just WRITE, man, and never give up.
